Hanging Out with Republic Bloggers

republic-bloggers-kylie-memoir-modeThis is the gorgeous Kylie from Memoir Mode.  We had a lovely catchup avec cocktails at the amazing Aqua rooftop bar in London – and doesn’t she just look so effortlessy fab? Kylie took over the Wear It Your Way blog for 4 weeks and dazzled us with her take on cute coloured jeans, pleated skirts and other Republic goodies which were much loved by our readers.

I went to meet Kylie in a Miso Aztec Playsuit, which I teamed with a bright blazer for added drama.  I’m loving playsuits at the moment and you can find a cute selection online here. If you want to create a playsuit blazer combo, be sure to check out some of my favourites below:

Hope this gives you some style inspiration for your next event / party!

How to Get the BEST Cleavage with Wonderbra

how-to-get-the-best-cleavage-wonderbra

Wonderbra has landed at Republic Fashion! And we’re delighted to bring you the best bras in the world (no word of a lie).   Many of us girls overlook the importance of a well-fitted, quality bra but you could look a million times better in that Saturday night dress…..if only you knew how to work the undergarments! ;)

Here are some of my favourites from the Wonderbra range:

strapless-bra-wonderbraBuy the Wonderbra Ultimate Lace Strapless Bra at Republic.co.uk

This strapless number will stop boys in the tracks! Tried and tested by many of the girls at Republic HQ, the Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless works wonders giving you the most amazing support just like a bra with straps.  Good, eh? I would wear this bra with the gorgeous Club L Peplum Bandeau Dress or the beautiful, flowing Miso Dipped Hem Bandeau Dress.

Bandeau tops are HUGE at the moment too so this bra would work amazingly well if you’re going for the crop too! :)

plunge-bra-wonderbraGet the Wonderbra Plunge Bra at Republic.co.uk

Now this is a complete lifesaver ladies! I love this plunge bra because it gives you the ultimate boost (and trust me, I need it) when you have a revealing neckline to work.  This magical plunge bra works wonders with this low cut Miso dress or the Miso Gold Foil Bodycon dress with its sexy plunging neckline.  I promise that you will look FAH! (Fit as Hell).

Stay sexy girls! And don’t forget to follow@wonderbra_uk on Twitter to catch our joint RT competition! Yay!

How to Create Penguin Nail Art

penguin-nail-art

If you haven’t checked out our customer nail art album on Facebook yet, do it now. I had no idea how talented our customers were and they have all inspired me to be more creative with my own nails.  Tiffany from Watford was our deserved winner in the nail art comp and her penguin nails have been a hit with our Facebook fans.  “How did she do them?” you say? Well here I have a step by step guide on how to create your very own penguin nail art.

I promise it’s easier than it looks! :)

Magsy’s Step by Step Guide for Penguin Nails

penguin-nail-art-models-own

Step 1) coat your nails with Models Own Black Magic – this nail polish is great with one coat but use two if you want maximum coverage. Now wait for the base coat to dry…

Step 2) I’ve used a nail tip whitener from a french manicure set to create the belly but you can use any white nail varnish to do this.

Step 3) Now take an ordinary hair slide and pry it open so you get access to the tips on the end.  This is one of the best nail art tools you will ever need (thanks to Gem Fatale).

Step 4) Paint white blobs above the belly to get the whites of the penguin’s eyes and use the hair pin to even out the white nail polish.  Don’t make these too small as you still have to dot on the pupils in the middle…

Step 5) Using the other end of your hair slide, carefully dot on the black pupils and your creation will start to look like a real penguin! :)

Step 6) The final step is to use a thin paintbrush / lip brush (or you can use the hair grip again) to paint on beak and feet. You can use a yellow nail varnish like Tiffany or an orange nail varnish like me, depending on your mood!

Don’t forget to finish off with a clear top coat to make your nails last longer or maybe jazz them up a bit with a coat of glitter?

Let me know if you try Tiffany’s penguin nail art – and feel free to leave requests for more tutorials! :)

Wednesday Wishlist : Who likes Short Shorts?

Following Magsy’s post earlier in the week, I too felt it would be appropriate to share my short shorts picks from Republic. Festival tickets have been purchased and holidays booked. Shorts are always a big staple in everyones spring and summer wardrobe and here at Republic we have a great range for you to choose from.

You cannot go wrong with a denim short. I love them! But I love them even more when they arent just your standard denim cut offs. Anything a bit quirky and it will catch my eye. I just love the Soul Cal Deluxe cross stitch hotpants. The embroidery on them makes them stand out from the rest. Perfect festival attire. Again another quirky style comes in the form of the Miso Scallop hem highwaisted shorts, no explanation required, they are just so cute! There are times when I keep the quirkiness out of the way and go for a good ol’ pair of distressed denims and Stars & Stripes hot pants tick all the boxes

When it comes to styling denim shorts I like to keep it quite simple. I love vest tops and tshirts with some kind of photo print motif on them just like this Miso Pink girl top. To keep my look girly and fresh, shirts like this heart print tie shirt from Soul Cal deluxe is just perfect. Very daisy duke-esque! When it gets a bit chilly, or the weather is a bit tempremental I like to pair my denim shorts with oversized or slouchy jumpers. This Stripe slash neck sweater also from Soul Cal deluxe is perfect. I love the nautical feel of it and how its such a easy piece to throw on.

The pastel trend is very big this spring and summer. We are still all loving the gorgeous variety of pastel items in store.  It’s a trend that every girls girl will be fond of. The range of Pastel Chino shorts from Soul Cal Deluxe will be a perfect addition to your wardrobe. Avaliable in pink, peach, blue and yellow. Theres a colour for everyone no matter what your tastes are!

The chino shorts aren’t just for Summer festivals, picnics in the park or your summer holidays though. I love to glam mine up with a sheer shirt. Again we have some great ones on the site at the moment. Why not combine two trends and wear this Animal Print blouse from Glamorous to add a bit of a edge to your outfit. If you’re a total girls girl and want to keep your outfit cute and sweet then why not try the Miso Heart print blouse. The tiny white heart print is just adorable. Finally vertical stripes are very on trend at the moment, so I am loving this Stripe sleeveless blouse also from Glamorous!

So how do you wear your short shorts?
